Lockdown
Performance & Workshop for High School Youth
Lockdown is a dance theater multi-sectional piece originally performed as a duet with some audience participation.
In the 2024-25 school year, Cynthia is developing a workshop to lead in the Des Moines public high school to develop and perform Lockdown workshops will take place in a larger space in a Des Moines public high school with the school community participating.
The design of the workshop is to include teachers, students, theater departments, and counselors to also create dialogue and healing in communities where school shootings have been a reality.
This project is funded by the Iowa Arts Council.
